Chrysis gertabi Radoszkowski, 1891: 189 . Syntypes; Turkmenistan: Ashkabad (ZMB, ISEA-PAN, examined) ( cerastes group). Synonym of Chrysis mutabilis Abeille de Perrin & du Buysson in du Buysson 1887 according to Kimsey & Bohart (1991: 441).

Chrysis hyrcana Semenov-Tian-Shanskij, 1967: 167. Holotype ♀; Iran: Astrabad (ZISP, examined) ( cerastes group). Synonym of Chrysis mutabilis Abeille de Perrin & du Buysson in du Buysson 1887 according to Kimsey & Bohart (1991: 441).

Material examined. Uzbekistan: 1♀, st. Djuma , 3.VIII.1937, leg. Popov ( ZISP) .

Remarks. Kimsey and Bohart (1991) synonymised Chrysis hyrcana Semenov with C. mutabilis du Buysson, 1887 . Rosa et al. (2017a, 2024) retained C. hyrcana as synonym, pending examination of more material; however, they noted the differences between the two taxa, including the shape of the transverse frontal carina, the structure of the apical margin of the third tergum, larger body size and the fully metallic green colouration of C. hyrcana , in contrast to the dark blue fore body and red to violet metasoma in C. mutabilis from Central Asia. Based on the examination of additional Central Asian specimens, including material from Uzbekistan, we (PR in submission) resurrected Chrysis gertabi Radoszkowski, 1891 from its previous synonymy with C. mutabilis , pending molecular analyses, and proposed Chrysis hyrcana Semenov-Tian-Shanskij, 1967 as a synonym of C. gertabi Radoszkowski, 1891 .
