Chrysis mysta igoriana Semenov-Tian-Shanskij, 1967
Chrysis ( Gonochrysis) igoriana Semenov-Tian-Shanskij, 1967: 155. Holotype ♀, Kazakhstan: Balamurun ( ZISP, examined) ( succincta group).
Material examined. Uzbekistan: 1♀, Samarkand env., 19–21.V.1994, leg. M. Halada ( MHC) ; 1♂, 1♀, Surkhandaria , Boysun Distr., 3 km N of Derbent, Mochaidaria riv., 38.245°N 67.0318°E, 14.IX.2017, leg. M. Mokrousov ( PRC); 2♀, 15 km NWW of Pop, 40°53′45′′N 70°54′57′′E, 20–21.V.2023, leg. A. Fateryga ( ZISP, PRC) GoogleMaps .
Remarks. Kimsey & Bohart (1991) synonymised Chrysis igoriana , described from Kazakhstan, with C. mysta du Buysson, 1900 originally described from Palestine. While morphologically similar, C. igoriana is easily distinguishable by its different colour pattern, which resembles that of C. germari Wesmael, 1839 with metallic rose colouration instead of the flame red, whereas C. mysta is entirely red. At present, given that the two taxa can be easily separated based on colour pattern, a diagnostic character in the succincta group ( Linsenmaier 1959), as well as on their distribution ( C. igoriana from Central Asia and C. mysta from the Caucasus, the Levant, Anatolia and an undefined area in the Middle East, including Iran ( Kimsey & Bohart 1991; Rosa et al. 2024)), we consider C. igoriana a separate subspecies of C. mysta . However, examination of additional material, along with molecular analyses, is needed to ascertain its real taxonomic status.
Distribution. Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan ( Semenov-Tian-Shanskij 1967; Tarbinsky 2002a).
