Notes.

The somatic and basic chromosome numbers in E. lobulata , endemic to China, are 2 n = 16 and x = 8, respectively (Table 1 View Table 1 ; Fig. 2A View Figure 2 ). Five pairs of chromosomes (I-V) are metacentric, and three pairs (VI-VIII) are submetacentric, subtelocentric and acrocentric (Tables 2 View Table 2 and 3 View Table 3 ; Fig. 3 View Figure 3 ). A pair of submetacentric chromosomes exhibits a secondary constriction. We also found a single small B chromosome in some cells. These Bs are metacentric, about 2.5 μm long. The karyotype formula of E. lobulata is 2 n = 2 x = 16 = 10m + 2smsat + 2st + 2t + 0-1B.
