Taxonomic note: The type series of Trichosia basdeni according to Freeman (1983a: 163) ought to be 4 males and 3 females. However, he incorrectly transcribed some of the data. The specimens from Farnham Royal, Buckinghamshire, 2 males, 27.v.1934 (paratypes) were given as Temple, Berkshire , 2 males , 21.v.−24.v and the specimens from Temple, Berkshire, 1 male, 26.v.1934 (holotype); 1 female, 28.v.1934; 1 female, 2.vi.1934; 1 female, 9.vi.1934 (all paratypes) were given as 3 females, 26.v.1934; 2 males, 21.v.−24.v.1934 .
