New to British list. Material examined: Radwell , Hertfordshire, 1 male, 1 female, 18.iv.1919, Edwards leg. ( BMNH). The Loke, Norwich, Norfolk, 2 males, 20.iv.1987; 1 male, 1.iv.1988; 1 male, 27.v.1997, all Laurence leg. ( PBLN) .

Ecological notes: found in garden; on a fence. iv–v.

Taxonomic note: Radwell specimens referred to by Edwards (1925a) were Xylosciara spectabilis rather than Xylosciara lignicola under which Freeman included this misidentification of Plastosciara pictiventris by Edwards.
