Remarks — Schilder (1933) noted that the Eratoidae differ anatomically and conchologically from all other cypraeoideans. His generic subdivisions were, however, based solely on shell features. Schilder’s (1936) classifi- cation included radula and osphradia in addition to shell morphology. Cate (1977) produced the most complete monograph on living eratoids and adopted the classifi- cation scheme of Schilder and Schilder (1971), which is utilized herein.
