Type material. Female holotype and 1 female paratype ( IRSNB) from Tiaris canorus (Gmelin) (Thraupidae) , BELGIUM: Antwerp Zoo, 10 May 1965, coll. A. Fain.
Holotype deposition. Female holotype in IRSNB (examined).
Remarks. This species was described based on females from a Tiaris canorus (Gmelin) (Thraupidae) that died in Antwerp Zoo ( Belgium) (Fain et al. 1999). No records since the original description.
