Positive for nitrate reduction, esculin hydrolysis, and urease and β -galactosidase activities, but negatives for indole production, glucose fermentation, gelatin hydrolysis, and arginine dihydrolase activity in API 20NE. Does not utilize capric acid, potassium gluconate, trisodium citrate, adipic acid, malic acid, and phenylacetic acid. N -Acetyl-glucosamine, D-glucose, L-arabinose, Dmannose, D-mannitol, and D-maltose are utilized.
