Type Locality: Venezuela, Mérida, Río Milla, 1630 m.
Vernacular Names: Merida Thomasomys.
Distribution: Mérida Andes, ca. 1600-2400 m, W Venezuela (see Linares, 1998:Fig. 151).
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: Karyotype described by Aguilera et al. (2000), who noted its general conformity to the condition supposed as primitive for the genus.
