(Figs 13–14)

Type material. Holotype. Male, W. Sulawesi, 8 km W of Mamasa (Nepe), 950 m, 119.20.32E 2.56.13S, 29.– 31. June 2001, Bolm lgt. ( LMBC).

Differential diagnosis. W. obscura sp. nov. belongs to an assemblage of black colored species. Its phallus resembles those of W. obstinata sp. nov., which differs in the light brown coloration and slightly bigger eyes. Other black colored species can easily be distinguished by the shape of male genitalia.

Description. Body medium-sized, slender, parallel-sided, uniformly black, only trochanters and bases of femora light brown. Head small, partly hidden by pronotum, eyes large, frontal distance between them 0.80 times eye diameter. Antennae compressed, weakly serrate, robust, antennomere 3 2.0 times longer than width, antennomeres 3–11 gradually narrowed. Pronotum flat, 1.38 times wider at base than long at midline, with well developed carinae, covered with long gray pubescence. Elytra parallel-sided, 3.33 times longer than width at humeri, with mostly quadrate reticulate cells, covered with dark gray to black pubescence. Phallus symmetrical, widest at base, narrowed in middle part, apical third relatively slender (Figs 13–14).

Measurements. BL 6.07 mm, HW 1.50 mm, PL 0.80 mm, PW 1.10 mm, EL 5.00 mm, Ediam 0.35 mm, Edist 0.44 mm.

Distribution. Sulawesi, the Mamasa valley.
