Type Locality: Botswana, 82 km west of Mohembo (near Namibian border).
Vernacular Names: Setzer's Mouse.
Distribution: NE Namibia, NW and S Botswana, and W Zambia ( Vermeiren and Verheyen, 1983).
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: Subgenus Nannomys . A unique desert species reviewed by Vermeiren and Verheyen (1983), Meester et al. (1986), Skinner and Smithers (1990), and de Graaff (1997 k).
