Description. Holotype: Ƥ. Length, 13.5 mm ( Figs 1 View FIGURE 1 g, 5g). Body strong metallic blue; head copper red, labrum and basal 1/3 of mandible blue, clypeus copper green, palpi dirty brown; antenna blue, dorsum of 6th to 8th antennomeres white; anterior of fore femur and tibia, fore and middle tarsi, apical 4 hind tarsomeres and a very small spot in interior base of hind basitarsus dirty white, apical margin of each tarsomere dark brown. Forewing strongly infuscated with feeble luster, cell R, base of cell 1Cu, base of cell BA, cell 2R1 and cell 2Cu light; stigma and veins black, cell C blackish brown, base of stigma with a pale brown spot; hind wing sub-infuscated hyaline. Hairs on dorsum of head dark brown, hairs on thorax pale.

Temple punctured with very narrow interspaces ( Fig. 17 View FIGURE 17 g); scutum densely punctured, anterior of scutum with shiny interspaces, anterior slope of mesoscutellum sparsely punctured, posterior slope densely and coarsely punctured, metascutellum densely punctured without interspaces; upper half of mesepisternum densely and coarsely punctured, punctures on lower half small and uniform, interspaces shiny; mesepimeron microsculptured, upper margin densely and coarsely punctured; metepisternum with sparse and small punctures; metepimeron shiny except dorsal margin densely punctured (Fig. 16a); 1st abdominal tergite shiny, middle furrow and lateral sides of 1st and other tergites entirely microsculptured (Fig. 16i).

Hairs on dorsum of head curved, 2 × as long as transverse diameter of median ocellus. Anterior margin of clypeus truncate; malar space 0.9 × transverse diameter of median ocellus; lower interocular distance equal to eye height; anterior margin of supraantennal tubercle elevated, frontal ridge fine and obtuse; middle fovea broad furrow like, lateral fovea deep; interocellar and postocellar furrows distinct; postocellar area elevated, higher than top of ocelli obviously, about 1.5 × as broad as long, middle carina obtuse; lateral furrows deep, slightly curved outwards, convergent posteriorly; head behind eyes 0.8 × eyes in length in dorsal view, convex at base and narrowing posteriorly. Antenna 1.1 × head and thorax combined in length. Mesoscutellum pyramidally elevated, with an acute peak, anterior slope longer than posterior slope, with an obtuse middle carina; mesepisternum angularly elevated, ventral thorn absent. Apex of hind tibia distinctly enlarged; metabasitarsus 4.6 × as long as broad, 0.9 × length of remaining 4 tarsomeres combined; hind inner tibial spur 0.4 × length of metabasitarsus. Hind wing with petiole of anal cell shorter than half length of cu-a. Ovipositor sheath 0.9 × length of middle tibia; lancet as in Fig. 9 View FIGURE 9 e; apical and 4th to 6th serrulae as in Fig. 11 View FIGURE 11 b.

Male: Length, 11 mm ( Figs 1 View FIGURE 1 h, 5h). Similar to female in structure and color, but middle and hind tibiae without white spot; lower interocular distance slightly shorter than eye height; hairs on dorsum of head curved, longer than 2 × transverse diameter of median ocellus, malar space equal to transverse diameter of median ocellus; head behind eyes distinctly narrowing posteriorly ( Fig 17 View FIGURE 17 h); postocellar area with a distinct middle longitudinal carina; anterior slope of mesoscutellum densely punctured; metepimeron largely shiny (Fig. 16e); middle of each abdominal tergite faintly punctured (Fig. 16m); hind wing with petiole of anal cell slightly shorter than cu-a; subgenital plate as long as broad, apex round, genitalia as in Figs 14 View FIGURE 14 b, 15b.

Variation. The spot on interior base of hind basitarsus is missing in one female.

Etymology. The specific epithet refers to the coloration of forewings.

Specimens examined. Holotype: 3, Mt. Gong, Yunnan, 27.800°N, 98.500°E, alt. 3031 m, 11 June 2009, Zhong Yihai leg., CSCSHT 0 0 810039 (CSCS). Paratypes: Yunnan: 2Ƥ, Heiwadi, Mt. Gong, Yunnan, 27°47.39´N, 98°35.22´E, alt. 1990 m, 14 July 2008, Zhong Yihai leg.; 1Ƥ, Yaojiaping, Lushui, Yunnan, 25.975°N, 98.710°E, alt. 2550 m, 3 June 2009, Xiao Wei leg.; 13, Fengxueyakou, Lushui, Yunnan, 25.973°N, 98.683°E, alt. 3150 m, 3 June 2009, Zhong Yihai leg.

Distribution. China (Yunnan).

Remarks. The new species is similar to S. vardalae , but differs from the latter by the following: forewing in both sexes infuscated with distinct pale spots; hind wing with petiole of anal cell longer than half length of cu-a; valvicep of penis valve narrow; malar space of male equal to transverse diameter of median ocellus; hairs on head of male longer than 2 × transverse diameter of median ocellus. While in the latter one, forewing in both sexes infuscated without pale spot; hind wing with petiole of anal cell shorter than half length of cu-a; valvicep of penis valve oval; malar space of male obviously shorter than transverse diameter of median ocellus; hairs on head of male equal to 2 × transverse diameter of median ocellus.
