Note: Amomum Linnaeus nom. rej. in favour of Amomum Roxb. and Zingiber Boehm.

Jansen (Spices, Condiments Med. Pl. Ethiopia: 124. 1981) incorrectly designated a Rheede plate, not cited in the protologue, as the lectotype.
