scientific name

Trichia lutescens (Lister) Lister, J. Bot.
status

170. * Trichia lutescens (Lister) Lister, J. Bot. View in CoL 35: 216 (1897)

Specimen examined. PERU. Ayacucho: Lucanas, Santiago de Vado , route PE-30A, km 105, 3850m, 14º38′24.3”S, 74º17′28.2”W, 27 Sep 2012, branch of Asteraceae , Lado 21814 (MA-Fungi 94584) GoogleMaps .

Notes. Similar to T. affinis , T. favoginea and T. persimilis , with yellowish fruiting bodies and iridescent peridium, differing by the spore ornamentation, warted or spinulose in T. lutescens and reticulate in the other species. According to Lado & Pando (1997) and Poulain et al. (2011), spiral bands in the capillitium of T. lutescens are smooth, while the spirals bear spines up to 5 µm long in the Peruvian material, yet this variation may be the result of distinct environmental conditions.
