Distribution. PA: Throughout Europe from Spain to Russia except Scandinavian countries, Iran, Israel,
Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, North Africa ( Korneyev & White, 1999).
Egyptian localities. Lower Nile Valley and Delta: Ezbet El-Nakhl, Shoubra.
Host plants. The distaff thistles ( Carthamus spp.). Source: Freidberg & Kugler (1989).
