Dacus aureus Tseng & Chu, 1982: 85 . Holotype. Taiwan (Hualien: Yuili) (BCIQT). Junior Homonym (preoccupied by May 1952).

Distribution. AF: introduced e. Africa. AU: Pacific Ocean Is.. OR: Indian Ocean Is., Pakistan to s. China. PA:

Egypt, Japan, Iran.

Host plants. Various Cucurbitaceae .

Egyptian localities. Lower Nile Valley and Delta ( White 2000).

Dates of collection. April-August.
