(Figs. III-6, VI-6)

Lemula View in CoL sp. 2: Chou, 2004: 370.— Chou, 2008: 370.

Description. Male: BL = 6.0– 7.5 mm. Body surface shiny; head with clypeus to vertex reddish brown; occiput and labrum dark brown to blackish brown though tempora getting lighter; mandibles usually black but sometimes yellowish at apices; antennae black to blackish brown; pronotum reddish to dark brown and usually light color along apical and basal margins; scutellum and elytra light reddish to pale orange brown; legs blackish brown though usually underside of femur getting lighter; ventral surface dark brown except for at least III–V abdominal ventrites which are yellowish, but sometimes entirely light yellowish brown. Head with labrum and clypeus densely provided with semi-long hairs; vertex to occiput sparsely covered with fine hairs; antennae scattered pale hairs on I–IV antennomeres and thin pubescence on remainder; pronotum sparsely covered with different length of fine flying hairs; elytra moderately furnished with fine short suberect whitish hairs which are nearly as long as space between punctures.

Head wider than pronotum, sparsely covered with fine punctures; temples roundly narrowed toward neck; vertex narrowly concave; antennae rather long, reaching apical three-tenths of elytra, relative lengths of antennomeres from base to apex in holotype as follows: 29: 10: 22: 21: 32: 29: 30: 27: 27: 27: 36.

Pronotum slightly shorter than width across lateral tubercles (PL/PW = 0.96), constricted at a little behind anterior margin and slightly so before basal margin, with a triangular tubercle near middle of each side; disk moderately inflated with indistinct median longitudinal depression, sparsely and shallowly punctured. Scutellum elongate triangular.

Elytra longer than twice humeral width (EL/EW = 2.13); disk moderately punctured; space between punctures wider than twice size of each puncture.

Endophallus (Type A). Quite similar with that of L. aequipilosa sp. nov. Dorsal view: CT swollen, ds with escutcheon-shaped plate surrounded by U-shaped lds; PB tube-like; APH elongate oval with slight median constriction. Lateral view: CT roundly inflated ventrally; PB tube-like structure without inflation with colored area at distal half; APH elongate oval.

Female (n = 9): BL = 6.9–8.0 mm. Similar to male, but differ in the following characters: antennae reaching middle of elytra; relative lengths of antennomeres from base to apex as follows: 27: 10: 21: 21: 28: 26: 26: 25: 25: 24: 31; pronotum shorter than width across lateral tubercles (PL/PW= 0.95); elytra as long as twice humeral width (EL/EW = 2.01); abdominal ventrites entirely yellowish.

Etymology. Species name, ' nitidiuscula ' derived from shiny elytra.

Distribution. Taiwan (Taoyuan, Yilan).

Ecology. Flight period: March–May. Flower records: Prunus , Litsea, Hidrangea , Acer .

Remarks. This new species is distributed between ca. 1,000 –1,800 m in altitude of Taoyuan City and Yilan County, Taiwan. It has close relation with L. aequipilosa sp. nov. by the similar structure of endophallus, but it is easily distinguishable by glossy body surface, small and sparse punctures on the pronotum and elytra, very short suberect hairs on the elytra, and light colored abdominal ventrites sometimes except for I and II.
