Type Locality: "in a district from fifteen to twenty miles [32 km] west of the Putu Mountains, which lie west of the Duobe and Cavally Rivers". [ Liberia] .

Vernacular Names: Johnston's Genet.

Synonyms: Genetta lehmanni Kuhn 1960 .

Distribution: Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Guinea, Liberia.

Conservation: IUCN – Data Deficient.
