Female gnathopod 2 mitten-shaped, merus, carpus and propodus each with palmate lobe. Pereopod 7 only just longer than pereopod 6. Pleopods subequal, long, peduncular margins naked. Uropod 1 peduncle subequal to rami, distolateral robust seta one third to one half length of exopodite; rami subequal; endopodite with 3 marginal robust setae, exopodite margins without marginal robust setae. Uropod 2 endopodite with 3 marginal robust setae, exopodite with 1 or 2 marginal robust setae. Uropod 3 peduncle with one marginal and two subdistal robust setae; ramus slender, subequal in length with peduncle without marginal robust setae. Telson strongly cleft, much longer than broad, narrowing and with separated lobes distally, with a pair of unequal terminal robust setae on each side. Coxal gills plate-like, unlobed. Serejorchestia ceduna ( Serejo & Lowry, 2008) differs from S. lakei (Richardson) in its longer antenna 1 which extends to the end of article 5 of antenna 2 (extending only about half way along article 5 of antenna 2 in S. lakei ), in having marginal robust setae on the exopodite of uropod 2 (marginally naked in in S. lakei ) and in having a slender uropod 3 ramus subequal in length with the peduncle (broader and about three quarters length of peduncle in S. lakei ).
