Type species: Anoplocheylus europaeus Berlese, 1910

Diagnosis. Peritremes in soft cuticle connecting gnathosoma and idiosoma (distally free or as anterolateral projections in Pseudocheylus ), completely or partly chambered (striated proximally and chambered distally in Neocheylus ); legs with pretarsi stalked, annulated, bearing a pliable empodium without claws (but present in some Pseudocheylus ) ( Ueckermann & Khanjani 2004).
