Cathorops melanopus ( Günther, 1864)
Arius melanopus ZBK Günther, 1864: 172. Type locality: Rio Motagua , Guatemala. Syntypes: BMNH 1865.4.29.51-53 .
Distribution: Montagua River basin.
Countries: Guatemala.
Habitat: Only in freshwater.
Maximum size: 230 mm TL.
Material examined: AMNH 35241 (2 al, 113-140 mm TL), Guatemala, Izabal, rio Motagua, near Finca .
