Lectotype (Gouda in Görts-van Rijn, Fl. Guianas, ser. A, 3: 68. 1987): Herb. Clifford: 129, Renealmia  1 (BM-000558543)  .

Current name: Tillandsia usneoides (L.) L.  ( Bromeliaceae  ).

Note: Although Smith & Downs (in Fl. Neotropica 14: 900. 1977) treated material in the Sloane herbarium (BM-SL) as the type, this was not studied by Linnaeus and is not original material for the name.
