Type Species. Corynetes rufus Kraatz, 1899: 107 . By monotypy.

Diagnosis. The bifid setae on the apex of the tibiae and partially serrate condition of the antenna will distinguish the members of this genus from any others within Orthopleurinae .

Description. This genus was recently redescribed and illustrated by Opitz (2009b). The tibial spur formula has been problematic in this genus. It was reported as 0-0-0 in Opitz (2009a) and 2-2- 2 in Opitz (2009b). The correct tibial spur formula for Romanaeclerus is 2-2-1.
