( Plate 14A, B View PLATE 14 )

Conganteon taiwanense Olmi 1991: 126 ; Olmi 1995a: 25; He & Xu 2002: 90.

Description of Female. Fully winged; length 1.6–4.1 mm (series from China, Gaoligongshan National Nature Reserve, composed of very small specimens: 1.6–2.1 mm). Head of holotype black, except mandible and clypeus testaceous (in specimen from China, Banqiaogou, part of face testaceous); antenna testaceous; mesosoma and metasoma black; legs testaceous, except meso- and metacoxa partly black. Specimens from China, Gaoligongshan National Nature Reserve, with head black, except mandible testaceous. Antenna clavate; antennal segments of holotype in following proportions: 13:7:21:16:14:10:8:8:7.5:10. Antenna of holotype with segment 3 much longer than segment 1 (21:13); antenna of small specimens from China, Gaoligongshan National Nature Reserve, with segment 3 little longer than segment 1 (10:7). Head shiny; face with anterior half reticulate rugose and posterior half punctate and unsculptured among punctures; vertex of holotype partly reticulate rugose, with some transverse keels on sides of posterior ocelli (in specimen from China, Banqiaogou, head completely reticulate rugose, except two small areas of vertex, near eyes, smooth, punctate and unsculptured among punctures; in specimens from China, Gaoligongshan National Nature Reserve, head reticulate rugose, with smooth and unsculptured area in front of anterior ocellus); frontal line complete; occipital carina complete; POL = 9; OL = 4; OOL = 10; OPL = 9; TL = 10. Scutum of holotype with anterior half reticulate rugose and posterior half punctate and unsculptured among punctures (in specimen from China, Banqiaogou, scutum completely punctate and unsculptured among punctures, except small anterior reticulate rugose area). Notauli incomplete, reaching approximately 0.5 length of scutum; in small specimens from China, Gaoligongshan National Nature Reserve, notauli almost completely absent. Scutellum punctate, unsculptured among punctures; in one specimen from China, Gaoligongshan National Nature Reserve, scutellum reticulate rugose. Metanotum reticulate rugose. Propodeum reticulate rugose, without transverse or longitudinal keels. Fore wing hyaline, without dark transverse bands; distal part of stigmal vein longer than proximal part (18:13). Protarsal segments in following proportions: 22:5:5:13:23. Enlarged claw ( Plate 14A View PLATE 14 ) without teeth or bristles or hairs. Segment 5 of protarsus ( Plate 14A View PLATE 14 ) with one row of approximately 50 short lamellae; distal apex with approximately ten lamellae. Tibial spurs 1/1/2.

Description of Male. Fully winged; length 3.3–3.6 mm. Head black, except mandible, clypeus and area between antennal toruli testaceous (in specimen from China, Nanling National Nature Reserve, Protection Station, area between antennal toruli black); occasionally gena testaceous; eyes testaceous-whitish; antenna testaceous, except segments 8–10 brown; mesosoma black; metasoma brown; legs testaceous, except basal half of metacoxa black. In specimen from China, Jietou, head and antenna totally black; legs brown, except protibia testaceous. Antenna slightly clavate; antennal segments in following proportions: 12:7:19:19:15:11:9:8:7.5:10. Head dull, reticulate rugose, with some small and shiny areas on sides of ocellar area; frontal line complete; occipital carina complete; POL = 8; OL = 5; OOL = 9; OPL = 7; TL = 10. Pronotum very short, transverse, completely rugose. Scutum shiny, smooth, punctate and unsculptured among punctures, reticulate rugose near anterior margin. In specimen from China, Jietou, scutum almost completely reticulate rugose, except two small lateral areas near posterior margin smooth and unsculptured. Notauli incomplete, reaching approximately 0.5–0.6 length of scutum. Scutellum shiny, punctate, unsculptured among punctures, rugose near posterior margin. Metanotum dull, reticulate rugose. Propodeum reticulate rugose, without transverse or longitudinal keels. Fore wing hyaline, without dark transverse bands; distal part of stigmal vein much longer than proximal part (14:10). Genitalia ( Plate 14B View PLATE 14 ) with large inner band wrapping penis (as in Deinodryinus ). Tibial spurs 1/1/2.
