Aphelopus rugidorsalis Xu, He & Olmi 1999a: 91 ; He & Xu 2002:79.

Description of Male. Fully winged; length 2.4 mm. Head black, except mandible, clypeus, gena and face between antennal toruli yellow-whitish; antenna black-brown; mesosoma black; metasoma black-brown; fore- and midlegs grey-brown; hindleg brown, except coxa black-brown and trochanter testaceous. Antenna filiform; antennal segments in following proportions: 2.0:2.0:3.0:4.0:4.5:4.5:4.5:4.5:4.0:6.0; length/breadth ratio of ninth antennal segment: 4:1. Head dull, granulated and slightly reticulate rugose; frontal line complete; POL = 3.0; OL = 1.6; OOL = 2.2; OPL = 2.0; TL = 1.8; greatest breadth of posterior ocelli shorter than OPL (1.0:2.0); occipital carina complete. Scutum dull, granulated and slightly reticulate rugose. Notauli incomplete, reaching approximately 0.8 length of scutum. Scutellum dull, granulated and slightly reticulate rugose. Mesopleuron partly granulated and partly smooth. Metanotum dull, granulated. Propodeum without transverse keel between dorsal and posterior surface; dorsal surface reticulate rugose; posterior surface with two weak longitudinal keels and median area as reticulate rugose as lateral areas. Fore wing hyaline, without dark transverse bands. Aedeagus not tridentate ( Plate 8J View PLATE 8 ); basivolsella without basal outer process and with one subdistal bristle ( Plate 8J View PLATE 8 ). In specimen from China, Mt. Huanggangshan, each basivolsella with one bristle and one pore. Tibial spurs 1/1/2.
