Aphelopus maculiclypeus Xu, He & Olmi 1999a: 91 ; He & Xu 2002: 78.
Description of Male. Fully winged; length 2.0 mm. Head black, except mandible yellow-whitish; clypeus brown; antenna black-brown (in specimens from China, Baimazhai, clypeus black; in specimen from China, Wolong, clypeus testaceous); mesosoma black; metasoma black; foreleg testaceous, except coxa brown and trochanter yellow; midleg testaceous, except coxa black; hindlegs brown, except coxa black, trochanter and tarsal segments 1–3 yellow. Antenna filiform; antennal segments in following proportions: 2.3:2.0:2.8:3.0:3.2:3.2:3.2:3.2:3.2:4.0. Head dull, granulated and slightly reticulate rugose; frontal line incomplete, only present in anterior third of face (in specimens from China, Baimazhai, 21.VII.2006, frontal line almost complete, not present in front of anterior ocellus); POL = 3.6; OL = 2.0; OOL = 1.8; OPL = 2.0; TL = 2.2; greatest breadth of posterior ocelli shorter than OPL (1.0:2.0); occipital carina complete. Scutum dull, granulated. Notauli incomplete, reaching approximately 0.7 length of scutum (in specimens from China, Baimazhai, notauli reaching about 0.9 length of scutum). Scutellum and metanotum shiny, weakly granulated. Mesopleuron wekaly granulated. Propodeum with transverse keel between dorsal and posterior surface; dorsal surface reticulate rugose; posterior surface with four longitudinal keels, median area smooth and lateral areas reticulate rugose. Fore wing hyaline, without dark transverse bands. Basivolsella ( Plate 7C View PLATE 7 ) with outer basal process and two subdistal bristles. In specimen from China, Henan Prov., right basivolsella with two subdistal bristles and left basivolsella with one subdistal bristle (no second pore). Tibial spurs 1/1/2.
