Type Locality: Brazil, Pará State, Igarapé-Assu, 50 m.
Vernacular Names: Brazilian Oecomys.
Distribution: C Brazil south of the Amazon River; range limits uncertain.
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: Formerly included auyantepui according to Musser and Carleton (1993), that form elevated to species by Voss et al. (2001).
