In the API 20NE strip, esculin hydrolysis and β -galactosidase activity and assimilation of Dglucose, D-mannose and D-maltose are positive, but nitrate reduction, indole production, glucose fermentation, arginine dihydrolase, urease and gelatinase activities and assimilation of L-arabinose, D-mannitol, N -acetyl-glucosamine, potassium gluconate, capric acid, adipic acid, malic acid, trisodium citrate and phenylacetic acid are negative. Strain HME8661 (= NIBRBA0000114392) has been isolated from a fresh water sample, Inje, Korea.
