Description. Holotype male ( Figs 1–2 View FIGURE 1 View FIGURE 2 ). Dorsal surface entirely shining; head, anterior lobe of pronotal disk, scutellum, and abdominal segments shiny reddish brown; antennal segments I–III pale castaneous orange, IV dark reddish brown; hemelytral pads, posterior margin of abdominal segment II, anterior border of abdominal segment III, and upper border of connexivum shiny castaneous orange. Ventral surface with head and thorax dull black; upper surface of pro-, meso-, and metapleura, abdominal sterna and genital capsule shiny reddish brown; labial segments I–IV (apex of IV shiny brown) shiny yellow; metathoracic scent gland auricle, acetabulae, coxae, trochanters and tibiae shiny castaneous orange; femora shiny reddish brown; tarsi shiny yellow; pleural margin of abdominal sternite III–VI shiny dark castaneous orange, VII shiny reddish brown; posterior border of abdominal sterna V–VI shiny yellow.

Measurements (mm). Male. Length head 0.76, width across eyes 1.06, interocular space 0.72, interocellar space 0.32; length antennal segments I 0.36, II 0.82, III 0.54, IV 0.76. Pronotum. Length of anterior lobe 0.72, length of posterior lobe 0.40; width of anterior lobe 1.94, width of posterior lobe 1.76. Scutellar length 0.64, width 1.12. Total body length 6.52.

Female. Unknown.

Type material. Holotype, male, Ecuador, Napo, Sierra Azul, Hacienda Aragon, 2200 m, ex: flight intercepted trap, 0°40’00’’S – 77°55’0’’W, 17-II-1996, ECU 1 H96 009, P. Hibbs coll. ( UKS).

Etymology. From the Latin, “ strigosus ” (lean, thin) referring to the slender body shape.
