Malaconothrus globiger was recorded from Molinia fen at Cothill , Oxfordshire by Macfadyen GoogleMaps (1952), and subsequently listed as Trimalaconothrus globiger by Turk (1953). Comparison of the Cothill specimens with syntypes loaned by Dr L. van der Hammen reveals that they are conspecific with M. processus van der Hammen, 1952.
