Combination: Phthiracarus histricinus ( Berlese, 1908) ; ( Lombardini 1936), Steganacarus histricinum ( Berlese, 1908) ; ( Jacot 1930), Hoplophthiracarus histricinus var. nitidior ( Berlese, 1923) ; ( van der Hammen 1959).

Synonymy: Hoplophthiracarus robustior Jacot, 1933 : ( Niedbała 2001).

Geographic Location: ON: Algonquin PP; Long Point NWA, Little Creek Ridges ( Niedbała 2002); near White River ( Barreto & Lindo 2018).

Habitats: pine and cedar litter; boreal peatland.

Distribution: Holarctic; northern Neotropical.
