Red Sea main basin: Egypt ( Klunzinger 1871), Eritrea (Tortonese 1935, as Stegostoma varius ; Baranes 2013), Saudi Arabia (Rüppell 1837, as Scyllium heptagonum ; Spaet & Berumen 2015).

General distribution: Red Sea, Indo-West Pacific: East Africa east to Marshall Islands and Samoa.
