Distribution

This species is known only from Sagami Bay, central Japan ( Ii 1964) .

Remarks

Ii (1964) established M. megalops on the basis of a single immature female (6 mm) in fragmentary condition collected from Sagami Bay, central Japan. This species has not been collected since then, in spite of intensive collection efforts near the type locality. Murano (1977) suggested that M. megalops may be a young form of M. pictus . The type material is missing.
