Lectotype (Paul & Nayar in Fasc. Fl. India 19: 183. 1988): Herb. Linn. No. 870.15 ( LINN; iso- S) .

Current name: Modiola caroliniana (L.) G. Don ( Malvaceae ).

Note: Paul & Nayar’s typification (30 Mar 1988) narrowly pre-dates that of Fryxell (in Syst. Bot. Monogr. 25: 306. 13 Dec 1988) who chose the same type.
