While early reports of Hannia greenwayi suggested that the species was restricted to the Hann River (Moll Gorge) in the Fitzroy River catchment ( Vari 1978), it is now known to be widespread within the Fitzroy catchment ( Morgan et al. 2002, 2004a) and also occurs in the Calder ( Allen & Leggett 1990) and Isdell (Allen & Allen in 1998) Rivers ( Fig. 28). The species is also reported from below the Barrage on the Fitzroy River ( Morgan et al. 2005). It is usually found in low numbers.
