Until the discovery of Hypseleotris ejuncida at two sites in the Carson River by Morgan et al. (2006), the species was only known from two sites in the Prince Regent River ( Fig. 42). The 21 individuals captured in the Carson River are an important range extension for the species. The habitat in the Carson River is typically under Pandanus roots and fallen leaves ( Morgan et al. 2006).
