Material examined. Zoea I ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 ; Fig. 3A View FIGURE 3 ; table 1) from RA (N = 20) (catalogue number 15723): Carapace length (CL) = 0.71 ± 0.05 mm; Carapace width ( CW) = 0.61 ± 0.03 mm; Rostro-dorsal Length ( RDL) =1.4 ± 0.06 mm and, FN (N= 20): CL = 0.73 ± 0.05 mm; CW = 0.58 ± 0.05 mm; RDL =1.5 ± 0.09).

Carapace ( Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 ; 3A View FIGURE 3 ): Globose, ventral and posterior margin smooth, with a pair of posterodorsal simple seta. Dorsal, rostral and lateral spines present, dorsal spine longer than rostral spine, lateral spines well developed and deflected ventrally. Sessile eyes.

Antennule ( Fig. 2A View FIGURE 2 ; 3B View FIGURE 3 . 1 View FIGURE 1 ): Primary flagellum unsegmented with 2 long and 2 shorter and thinner terminal aesthetascs, and 1 simple shorter seta; accessory flagellum absent.

Antenna ( Fig. 2B View FIGURE 2 ; 3B View FIGURE 3 . 2 View FIGURE 2 ): Biflagellate; protopod with 2 rows of well-developed spinules. Endopod absent. Exopod half the length of the protopod, with 1 long and 1shorter terminal setae, and 4 minute terminal spines).

Mandibles: Endopod palp absent.

Maxillule ( Fig. 2C View FIGURE 2 ; 3C View FIGURE 3 ): Coxal endite with 6 plumose setae. Basial endite with 5 plumose setae, and 1 distal tooth. Endopod 2-segmented, proximal segment with 1 seta, distal segment with 5 setae (2 terminal, 2 subterminal and lateral bud with apical long seta).

Maxilla ( Fig. 2D View FIGURE 2 ; 3D View FIGURE 3 ): Coxal endite bilobed with 5 + 4 setae; microtrichia on lateral margins. Basial endite bilobed, with 5 + 4 setae; microtrichia on lateral margins. Endopod unsegmented with 2 terminal and 2 subterminal setae; microtrichia on lateral margins exopod (scaphognathite) with 4 plumose setae; margins of terminal process with microtrichia on distal half.

First maxilliped ( Fig. 2E View FIGURE 2 ; 3E View FIGURE 3 ): Coxa with 1 setae. Basis with 10 setae arranged 2+2+3+3. Endopod 5-segmented with 2, 2, 1, 2, 5 (2 terminal, 2 subterminal and 1 lateral setae). Exopod unsegmented, with 4 terminal plumo-natatory setae.

Second maxilliped ( Fig. 2F View FIGURE 2 ; 3F View FIGURE 3 ): Coxa without setae. Basis with 4 setae 1+1+1+1. Endopod 3-segmented with setae arranged, 1, 1, 6 (3 subterminal + 3 terminal). Exopod unsegmented, with 4 long plumo-natatory setae.

Third maxilliped: absent.

Pereiopods: absent.

Pleon ( Fig. 2G View FIGURE 2 ; 3 G, H, I View FIGURE 3 ): Five pleonites. Pleonites 2-3 with a pair of dorsolateral process. Pleonites 2-5 with a pair of posterolateral setae ( Fig. 3 I View FIGURE 3 ). A single mid-dorsal seta on first pleonite ( Fig. 3 H View FIGURE 3 ): Pleopods absent

Telson ( Fig. 2H View FIGURE 2 ; 3J View FIGURE 3 ): Bifurcated, posterior margin with 3 pairs of serrulate setae. A minute dorsal spine basally on each furcal arm (detail of Fig. 2H View FIGURE 2 ; 3K View FIGURE 3 ).
