Notes

Authority: Walker 1858b; Unlikely to be from India: Incorrectly listed in India by Matsumura (1907) and Matsumura (1917). According to Metcalf (1963) Matsumura referred to a specimen misidentified as Cryptotympana intermedia (actually Cryptotympana japonensis Kato, 1925) and likely stated the locality information associated with C. intermedia and not C. japonensis .
