Notes

This species is recorded for the first time in Italy. Elsewhere, it is distributed from Greece through Turkey and Crimea to Iran ( Ascher and Pickering 2023, C. Praz, personal communication 2022). It has generally been known as Megachile semicircularis Zanden. However, the holotype of the latter is a male of M. apicalis Spinola, 1808 (C. Praz, personal communication 2022).
