Distribution

Hong Kong; South China Sea; China; southern Japan.

Habitat

Subtidal to 30 fathoms (, 2 60 m); hypobiotic. Herein recorded from Conic Island Cave at between 2 11.8 and 2 18.2 m Chart Datum (C.D.)

Comments

Originally described as attached to empty shells of Dendostrea imbricata (Lamarck) collected from between 10–30 fathoms (, 2 20 to 2 60 m), this species was later collected from low tidal areas in southern Japan ( Utinomi 1970) and from ‘‘the under surfaces of boulders at about 4 m depth at Lung Ha Wan, and also on a lobster from 20 m at Ping Chau’’, in Hong Kong ( Foster 1982, p. 215). Not hitherto recorded from submarine caves.
