Parancistrocerus Bequaert 1925b: 64 View in CoL , subgenus of Ancistrocerus Wesmael. View in CoL Type species: Odynerus fulvipes de Saussure, 1855 [= O “ flavipes Fabricius " sensu de Saussure, 1852, nec Vespa flavipes Fabricius, 1775 ], by original designation. Parancistrocerus: Bohart 1965: 107 View in CoL (as genus); Giordani Soika 1994: 152 –202.

Diagnosis. Mandibles little longer than length of clypeus, distinctly cross each other. Clypeus as long as wide, weakly emarginate/truncate apically. Females with cephalic foveae present. Vertex sloping behind ocelli. Anterior face of pronotum with two median foveae ( Fig. 20 View FIGURES 19 – 24 ). Pronotal carina incomplete. Pretegular carina present. Mesepisternum with epicnemial carina present. Tegula as long as wide or little wider, emarginate adjoining parategula, not reaching posterior end of parategula. Axillary fossa wide. Propodeal dorsum below plane of metanotum. Propodeal orifice wide dorsally. Submarginal carina produced as pointed process above valvula. Propodeal valvula free from submarginal carina posteriorly. Metasoma sessile, T1 with a transverse carina ( Fig. 52 View FIGURES 48 – 54. 48 ). T2 smooth basally, forming acarinarium beneath apex of T1 that often full of mites ( Fig. 80 View FIGURES 79 – 85 ). Mid tibia with one apical spur. SMC2 basally acute. Prestigma shorter than pterostigma. ♂: antennae hooked. Body length usually less than 10mm.

Distribution. Neotropical, Nearctic, Oriental and Palearctic Regions.
