Pseudonicsara (Wasiorana) View in CoL subgen. n.

Type species: Pseudonicsara (Wasiorana) alces View in CoL sp. n.

Diagnosis. Differs from Pseudonicsara s.str. by (1) the fore tibia, which is triangular but quadrangular in apical quarter ( Fig. 26); (2) the strongly shining, almost smooth pronotum ( Fig. 46); (3) the hind margin of male pronotum being convex, little covering base of stridulatory area ( Figs. 42, 46); (4) the longer and broader tegmina ( Figs. 8, 18); (5) the shape of the ovipositor, which has the margins not converging and is curved in basal two thirds, substraight in apical third ( Figs. 18, 545).

Description. Characters of the genus; additional: Pronotum shining, subsmooth throughout; hind margin slightly convex; auditory swelling distinct ( Figs. 42, 46). Prosternal spines variable, more than half as long as the fore coxa or reduced to small tubercles. Knee lobes of hind femur bi-spinose or uni-spinose. Fore tibia in cross-section triangular but in apical quarter quadrangular with rounded dorsal angles ( Fig. 26).

Male. Pronotum with hind margin rounded, covering base of the stridulatory apparatus to a variable degree ( Figs. 42, 43). Epiproct only weakly furrowed. Paraproct with an obtuse projection of variable shape.

Female. Ovipositor long, robust, rather regularly curved in basal two thirds, substraight in apical third ( Fig. 545).

Etymology. Named after the type locality of the typus generis, the peninsula Wasior.
