Acusana longa View in CoL sp. nov.

Figs 37 View FIGURES 37 ¯58, 75

Diagnosis. Pygofer (Fig. 44) apex with triangular protrusion. Subgenital plate (Fig. 45) elongated. Style (Fig. 47) with blade curved in right angle near base and then straight, ventral margin not expanded ventrally. Aedeagus (Figs 49, 50) shaft very long, cylindrical with pair of apical processes short, directed anterad.

Description. Length 7.2¯ 7.5mm (male), 7.9¯ 8.2mm (female). Head ( Fig. 37 View FIGURES 37 ), in dorsal view, ocelli slightly closer to posterior than anterior margin of crown. Head (Fig. 38), in frontal view, with clypeus ca. 1.5 times longer than wide, lateral margins divergent towards apex. Head (Fig. 39), in lateral view, crown-face transition with striae near eye margin and two carinae on mid-portion. Forewing (Fig. 40) appendix moderately developed, as wide as first apical cell maximum width. Profemur PV row formed by 4–5 setae. Protibia, AD row formed by only very short setae. Other characteristics as described for A. adunca and generic description.

Coloration. Head and thorax ( Figs 37 View FIGURES 37 , 75) pale-yellow. Forewing (Fig. 40) with apex of first, second and third apical cells gray. Legs and abdomen yellow. Other characteristics as described for A. adunca .

Male terminalia. Sternite VIII (Fig. 41), in ventral view, rectangular, 1.5 times wider than long; posterolateral margins rounded; posterior margin straight. Valve (Fig. 42), in ventral view, 1.8 times wider than long; anterior margin straight; lateral margins parallel; posterior margin almost straight, looking deeply excavated. Pygofer (Fig. 43), in lateral view, twice as long as maximum height; ventral margin straight; apex truncated; macrosetae dispersed on posterodorsal quadrant; apex in dorsal view (Fig. 44), with triangular-shaped protrusion. Subgenital plate, in lateral view (Fig. 43), surpassing pygofer apex; in ventral view (Fig. 45), elongated, 4.6 times longer than wide, wider near base and tapered toward apex; microsetae on ventral surface, near external margin; apex rounded. Connective (Fig. 46) in posterior view, as wide as long; stalk elongate, as long as arm length and enlarged apically; in lateral view (Fig. 49) strongly curved ventrally; with small and translucent keel dorsally, between arms. Style, in dorsal view (Fig. 47), outer lobe tubercle-shaped, with setae on internal surface; in lateral view (Fig. 48), blade curved in right angle near base and then straight; ventral margin serrated subapically; apex acute, curved dorsally. Aedeagus (Figs 49, 50) with preatrium strongly developed; shaft very long, cylindrical, slightly curved near base; apex slightly curved posterad, with pair of slender and short apical process, directed anterad. Other characteristics as in generic description.

Female terminalia. Sternite VII ( Fig. 51 View FIGURES 51 ) 1.8 times wider than long; lateral angles rounded; posterior margin with weak V-shaped excavation. Other characteristics as described for A. adunca . and generic description.

Etymology. The new species epithet is derived from the Latin word “longus” meaning long. It refers to the elongated subgenital plates, styles and aedeagus.

Notes. Acusana longa sp. nov. differs from other species of Acusana in having the apex of the pygofer, in dorsal view, with a triangular protrusion, the style blade curved at a right angle near the base and the aedeagus shaft very long.
