Phymatodes amoenus (Say, 1824) ; Callidiini [new state record]

Distribution: Southern PQ to GA to eastern TX to MN. Kentucky specimens are from the eastern half of the state, mostly from the Interior Plateau (Map 138).

Larval host plants: Acer saccharum , Crataegus crusgalli , Diospyros virginiana , Quercus imbricaria and Vitis

spp. ( Monné & Nearns 2022c), although the primary host is Vitis ( Bousquet et al. 2017)

Chemical lures: 3R-ketone, (R)-2-methylbutan-1-ol and a blend of: 3-hydroxyhexan-2-one + (2 R *,3 R *)-2,3- hexanediol + racemic (E)-fuscumol + racemic (E)-fuscumol acetate + monochamol + racemic 2-methylbutan-1-ol ( Hanks & Millar 2013)

Comments: This is a diurnal, spring species with adults active in April and May.
