Distribution: NS to south FL to southern AZ to MN. Most Kentucky specimens of this commonly collected species were primarily in the easternmost three ecoregions (Map 211).

Collection methods: Light (4); on building lumber (1); panel trap baited with: α-pinene (11), α- & β-pinene (6), ethanol + α-pinene (1)

Larval host plants: Abies , Juniperus virginiana , Picea , Pinus spp. and Quercus rubra ( Monné & Nearns 2022c)

Chemical lures: Ethanol and α-pinene ( Hanks & Millar 2013; Miller et al. 2011)

Comments: Attracted to lights. Adults can be found on recently dead pines (standing or fallen; Bousquet et al. 2017).
