Distribution: NS to central GA and NW to southern AB. Kentucky specimens were taken mostly from the eastern half of the state (Map 034).

Larval host plants: Acer , Alnus , Betula , Carya , Fagus , Ostrya , Sorbus and Tilia ( Bousquet et al. 2017)

Adult flower hosts: Cornus and Heracleum ( Bousquet et al. 2017)

Chemical lures: Ethanol ( Montgomery & Wargo 1983)

Comments: A diurnal species often collected in forested areas on dead tree trunks or the above flowers.
