Distribution: NS to northern FL to eastern TX to MN. Most Kentucky records of this diurnal species are from the eastern half of the state (Map 006).

Larval host plants: Acer rubrum , Betula , Carpinus caroliniana , Corylus americana , Fagus grandifolia , Lindera benzoin , Malus , Ostrya virginiana , Pinus spp. , Prunus virginiana , Quercus , Rhododendron , Tilia americana and Viburnum acerifolium ( Monné & Nearns 2022b)

Adult flower hosts: Aruncus dioicus , Hydrangea arborescens , Smilacina racemosa and Vitis ( Lingafelter 2007)

Chemical lures: Ethanol ( Montgomery & Wargo 1983)

Comments: Diurnal as adults, can be found abundantly on flowers.
