Distribution: NB to northern FL to eastern TX to southern MB. The few Kentucky collections are from the south-central part of the state (Map 168).

Months: May (1), June (2), July (1)

Collections (4 records, 4 specimens): EGCCRC (3), WKUC (1)

Collection methods: Blacklight (3)

Larval host plants: Primarily Tilia , and although Acer and Populus have also been reported ( Linsley & Chemsak 1995), “these records are suspect” ( Bousquet et al. 2017)

Comments: Attracted to lights. Beating linden tree foliage ( Tilia ) can also yield specimens.

Note: Species currently in the genus Sternidius below are listed under the genus Liopinus in most identification manuals (e.g., Lingafelter 2007; Linsley & Chemsak 1995; Yanega 1996).
