Taxnomic note: This species was recently moved from Leptura to Etorofus by Bousquet et al. (2017), who moved all Canadian Leptura species to this genus.

Distribution: NS to northern GA to MN to southern ON. Kentucky specimens were all collected in the eastern three ecoregions (Central Appalachians, Southwestern Appalachians and Western Allegheny Plateau; Map 054)

Collection methods: Malaise trap (2); Blacklight trap (1); Flowers: Hydrangea (3); Aruncus (1), Asclepias (1)

Larval host plants: Pinus and Tsuga ( Bousquet et al. 2017)

Adult flower hosts: Achillea , Ceanothus , Heracleum , Hydrangea arborescens , Spiraea and Tragopogon ( Lingafelter 2007)

Comments: Adults are diurnal and usually found on the above flowers.
