Monochamus notatus (Drury, 1775) ; Lamiini “northeastern sawyer” [new state record]

Distribution: Transcontinental across southern Canada and in the US ranges from ME to northern GA to MN, with populations in northwestern MT. Kentucky collections were from the eastern quarter of the state (Central Appalachians and Western Allegheny Plateau; Map 107).

Larval host plants: Abies balsamea , Picea glauca , Pinus spp. , and Psedotsuga menziesii ( Monné & Nearns 2022d) .

Chemical lures: Chemical lures include monochamol, ethanol + α-pinene, monoterpenes ( Fierke et al. 2012) or a blend of 3-hydroxyhexan-2-one + (2 R *,3 R *)-2,3-hexanediol + racemic (E)-fuscumol + racemic (E)-fuscumol acetate + monochamol + racemic 2-methylbutan-1-ol + ethanol + α- and β-pinene ( Hanks & Millar 2013)

Comments: Attracted to lights.
